Walmart and SCAN Launch Co-Branded Medicare Advantage Plans Designed to Deliver More Personalized Health Support for Older Adults

Partnership combines SCAN's expertise serving seniors with Walmart's Everyday Health Signals℠ AI-powered platform and a unique Chronic Special Needs Plan to support healthier living and chronic condition management

LONG BEACH, CA, AND BENTONVILLE, AR, UNITED STATES, October 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- SCAN Health Plan (SCAN), and Walmart Inc. (Nasdaq: WMT) today announced the launch of two co-branded Medicare Advantage (MA) plans: SCAN Walmart Health Advantage (HMO) and SCAN Walmart Medicare Complete Chronic Special Needs Plan (C-SNP). The plans combine comprehensive MA coverage with health and wellness support designed to help older adults navigate their individual health needs with greater support, confidence and convenience.

Both offerings will be available beginning January 1, 2027, to eligible Medicare beneficiaries in six counties in Texas and three counties in Arizona. The plan is expected to be available to more than two million Medicare enrollees.

"Walmart plays an important role in the everyday lives of many older adults, whether they're shopping for groceries, filling prescriptions or looking for products that support their health and wellness," said Zack Myers, national general manager of SCAN Health Plan. "Together, we're offering Medicare Advantage plans that combine strong benefits, personalized support and innovative tools that can help members make choices that support their individual health goals."

At the center of the partnership is a shared commitment to improving older adults’ health and wellbeing by making it easier for members to use their benefits for the things they need every day. That includes nutritious foods and over-the-counter benefits that members can use across Walmart’s broad assortment of affordable groceries, health and wellness products and everyday essentials, with convenient ways to shop and access what they need. Together with Walmart’s pharmacy, vision, and broader health and wellness capabilities, the plans are designed to create a more connected experience and help members get more value from their coverage while making choices that support their health goals.

A unique enabler of the experience is Walmart’s Everyday Health Signals℠ , an AI-powered platform that provides nutrition insights from everyday shopping behaviors for members who opt in. Members who choose to participate will receive tailored food recommendations based on their health goals, preferences, and shopping habits.

“For older adults, the value of a health plan can come down to how easy it is to understand and use the benefits available to them,” said Pravene Nath, M.D., group director for consumer health and data solutions at Walmart U.S. “These plans are designed to help support members and Walmart customers with the everyday decisions that impact health and wellness, from groceries and nutritious foods to prescriptions, vision, and other everyday essentials. Walmart Everyday Health Signals℠ helps enrolled members understand the health impact of these decisions and offers personalized, goal-oriented guidance for healthier eating. Walmart and SCAN are creating a convenient and connected experience that helps members get more value from their coverage and better supports their health throughout the year.”

The organizations’ shared commitment to supporting people with chronic conditions is reflected in the SCAN Walmart Medicare Complete Chronic Special Needs Plan (C-SNP). Designed for Medicare beneficiaries with chronic conditions such as diabetes, congestive heart failure and cardiovascular disease, the plan combines specialized benefits with tailored support to help members manage their health.
